Welcome to the Thanksgiving Farm at THE CENTER FOR DISCOVERY where people come together and merge community-based traditional farming practices with 21st Century sustainable farming techniques to simply get closer to the food we all eat. We’ve created a place rich with human interactions, all focused on raising crops and caring for animals year round – and sharing the experiences and the effort.

The Thanksgiving Farm is at the heart of The Center’s biodynamic agriculture community. Thanksgiving Farm features a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) operation that grows organic vegetables, herbs and soft fruits for The Center’s use, as well as for more than 150 families from local communities across our area. Thanksgiving Farm also runs the Stonewall Preserve, a 300-acre agricultural/educational center in the small town of Hurleyville, NY, just 10 minutes from The Center’s main Harris, NY campus. Stonewall Preserve will also soon be home to five young men with autistic spectrum disorders. All of them are excited about the possibilities at Stonewall Preserve which features extraordinary vistas, magnificently restored stonewalls, and fields of grand scope and rich soils. Stonewall Preserve is also the site of Tutto Bene Ranch, home to one of the largest herds of full-blooded Chianina cows in the U.S., as well as pigs, sheep and goats – not to mention a thriving honey house - all of which add to the biodynamic universe that is the Thanksgiving Farm at The Center for Discovery.

The Thanksgiving Farm – where we honor sustainable agriculture practices to grow good food – and celebrate the efforts of everyone who makes it happen!
